Stopped by Monte Carlo because it was on Guy's Diners Drive-ins and Dives...great dive atmosphere..terrific menu selections.. we had the porterhouse steak and the Louis special.. Good stuff! Glad we stopped by
Fun very busy little eclectic place it was cool that we got set under the Guy Fieri posters Food was good. We tried the Monte Carlo Burger the chicken strips and the steak fingers ( the steak fingers would have been out of this world with some country gravy) and for the appetizer we had fried mushrooms (kinda a small portion)
AMAZING!!! I will come back to Alberquque JUST to eat here. Great food and service. Careful tho...drinks are strong!!???? No complaints just fair warning...I mean. It IS attached to a liquor store!
Very retro. Great food, quick and friendly service. Definitely be back to try more. Prices were comparable to the chains, but food was better.
Best Steak I have had in years. The 4estaurant is in an old gas station. But don't let that put you off. The food is fantastic. You may have to wait in line for a table. We had a 20 minute wait. But it was worth it. Not too expensive either. Highly recommend
If it wasn't for the insanely good food I would call Monte Carlo's a dive joint. I mean come on, they have a Velvet Elvis portrait and hoods from drag cars hanging from the ceiling. Awesomeness incarnate. The steaks were perfect, the owner eccentric and the selection of alcohol nextdoor at the liquor store ( pass thru in restaurant) is oddly intriguing. Recommending this to everyone I know!
I searched all over the city for an amazing steak. I heard about this place from asking people where to go so that i could take my boss when he came into town. At first, looking at it was not what i expected but that did not intimidate me. We stopped in and the host was very friendly and shared some conversation while we stood in the long line waiting to be seated. This was exciting, this place must be good! Only when I got my plate in front of me did I realize we had found an amazing dinner venue that I will be returning to. Enjoy the food, try the specials.
Monte Carlo is an old school Albuquerque Restaurant that still serves up some of the best steaks. I mixed it up on this visit and tried their steak fingers. They were some of the best I've had. The meat was tender and the batter was light and crispy. Always get their homecut fries as an option :)
Finally got to the place Guy went on Triple D! I have wanted to go to this steakhouse for several years. Now Guy tried other dishes but he also featured the steaks and really wanted to eat a steak in the back of a liquor store! And this place is so nostalgic! Old half moon leather booths. NASCAR tin punch ads for long ago cars from the Winston cup series on the walls. Very dark inside. A small bar inside, guys waking thru with literal trays of fresh cut meat thru the dining room from the butcher shop to the grill area! It's amazing in here. And the steak did not disappoint. My Dr had me on a lower Protein diet right now so I got the 12oz ribeye instead of the 16 oz. I worried it would be thin and over cooked but it was a nice slightly thick med rare steak. The salad was nice and crisp, salad dressing was on point. Service was ok, they were running around busy but for some reason we kept having to snag our waitress to get drink refills. A dining companion had a burger and fries. And the burger was huge, cooked perfect and the hand cut home made fries were amazing! Make sure to include a stop at the Monte Carlo on a trip to Albuquerque. You won't be disappointed!
Definitely a staple of great steaks. The food was amazing., service was quick and efficient, and the ambience increased the flavor of all the food
